1. Who we are

The AXITAM Public API (publicapi.axitam.net and its per-source hosts) is operated by AXITAM SRL, a company registered in Belgium under enterprise number 0420.254.973 (the "Operator"). Contact: publicapi@axitam.net.

2. The service

The API serves reference data (ISO codes, Unicode CLDR), Belgian enterprise data, Belgian annual accounts and Peppol Directory data as published by their sources, over HTTPS in JSON, free of charge. It is in public beta: endpoints and formats may still evolve before version 1.0.

Anonymous use is allowed within the published usage limits (per IP address). A developer account lets you subscribe to a plan and create API keys that raise these limits. The current plans and limits are shown on the homepage and in the portal.

3. Your account and your keys

You provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One account is meant for one person or one organisation contact. Accounts are activated after a manual review; the Operator may refuse an account without having to justify it.

Your password and your API keys are secrets: keep them confidential, use them only in applications and servers you control, and revoke a key at once if it may have leaked. You are responsible for every request made with your keys.

4. Acceptable use

You respect the usage limits and do not try to circumvent them (many IP addresses, many accounts or keys for one use). You do not use the API to mass-extract data with the purpose of rebuilding the underlying datasets against their sources' licences, nor for any illegal purpose.

The data comes from third-party sources, each with its own licence (listed at /api/v1/data-sources): you comply with those licences when you reuse the data.

5. Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is", without service-level commitment. The Operator may change, suspend or stop the service, or adapt the usage limits, at any time; significant changes to the API or to these terms are announced on the homepage and, for account holders, by e-mail.

6. Suspension and termination

The Operator may disable an account and revoke its keys in case of breach of these terms, abuse or security risk. You may delete your account at any time from the portal; your data is then anonymised as described in the privacy policy.

7. Liability

The data is relayed as published by its sources; the Operator does not warrant its accuracy, completeness or availability. To the extent permitted by Belgian law, the Operator is not liable for any damage resulting from the use of the API or of the data, in particular for decisions taken on the basis of the data.

8. Personal data

The personal data of account holders is processed as described in the privacy and cookies policy.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably is brought before the competent courts of Belgium.
